Xbox XDK Collection [Re-upload]

At long last, I have been able to find *MOST* of my XDKs. I've gotten a long list of requests to reupload these, and I managed to find most of them. There's more but they are on a disc that randomly appears and disappears somehow. Right now, that disc has managed to "disappear" again, so I have to wait until it re-appears so that I can share the long awaited and highly sought after 3911 XDK!

EDIT: For 4627 and earlier, you'll need Visual Studio 6.0 as well as the appropriate Service and Processor Packs. You can download these here & here! For later versions, you'll need Visual Studio .net 2002 or 2003 (7.x).

It includes 3 of the 4 XDKs you mentioned you had but needed to find (5659, 5788, 5849) as well as a more complete version of at least one of the ones you uploaded (can't remember which one right now).

In total it contains XDKs 4361, 4627, 5344, 5558, 5659, 5788, 5849, 5849.16, and 5933.

Also has files and info for doing retail to debug conversions and some example code you uploaded somewhere else before that I downloaded a while back.

Looking forward to 3911 once you find it!

Like the XBox_DevKit_Recovery_Disc-WAM.rar, which looks like it might be the recovery for 3911.1

Doesn't include the SDK sadly but the recovery is still a great find, thanks for posting it!

EDIT2: Also a weird oddity I just noticed, it looks like 5849.15 is actually newer than 5933?
PE headers say that 5933 was built 16th Feb 2004, while 5849.15 SDK was built 3rd Feb 2005, & 5849.6 recovery 11th May 2004, docs also mention that 5849.15 was released on 7th Feb 2005.

(doc files seem to confirm too: "Built on Monday, February 16, 2004. Build #5933" vs "Built on Thursday, January 20, 2005. Build #5849")

I wonder if that means it's better to use that 5849 release for XDK work?

Maybe that 5933 release was thrown together to be used for some internal game and then the 5849.15 update to 5849 contains whatever improvements 5933 had but possibly cleaned up for public release maybe with more stuff added. Or maybe 5933 has some unique stuff that was only needed for that internal game or games. Who knows. Cool find!

EDIT: Btw for whatever reason it looks like your 5849.15 folder doesn't actually contain the XDK, just empty folders.

Also not sure why the WAM release says 5849.16 and the list of releases says 5849.15... Maybe a typo on their part? It's in the file name as well as the nfo.

Seems 5344 might have had a full leak at some point, some japanese BBS archives from early 00's mention it a few times anyway, on some "NY cluster", might have been called "Microsoft Xbox XDK 5344.zip", can't find much else about it though...

(Looks like XBSESetup.exe is included inside the actual XDKSetup too, so I've removed that from the MEGA.)

EDIT: Seems NY is referring to the Winny japanese P2P client, I had a try at using that + it's successor Share, but didn't get any results searching for XDK Maybe I didn't set something up properly though.

Yeah I was guessing typo, can't find anything else mentioning .16 other than their release anyway.

Yep it popped up as I was still browsing and downloading the stuff I didn't have. I really like your organization with the folders, I ended up reorganizing my local folders the same way (left Mega as-is).

Thanks for digging into the code and confirming my suspicions! I had a feeling it was possible they were incrementing build numbers internally (since that was an internal only release), but for whatever reason stuck with the same build number for the external release and made it a point release update instead. I worked at Apple for a while and we had separate internal and external build numbers / source forks for stuff like iOS and macOS, so it seemed likely they did something similar.

Interesting...if there's a 5849.17 then maybe that WAM release really is 5849.16 and the newer updates are just not on that list. I guess we'd have to find a copy of 5849.15 somewhere to be sure...

Had a look at it with exiso and seems it's actually version 3823.1!

I think I saw mention somewhere that August 2001 had two releases, one for final kits and one for betas, so I guess now we have both of them

Haven't checked this thread in almost a year but holy crap! You guys backed up my old uploads from assemblergames! Some of this stuff I thought I lost forever, like the XDK 4400 include/lib files (an XDK that never saw the light of day afaik).

Someone DMed me on discord asking about XDKs, so I checked the thread and BAM! All the stuff that I was worried I'd have lost for good. Thanks a bunch everyone.
