in the united state there were "dynamic" terminals - it was possible to choose the demo on the screen and the game was launched. the content was not managed by the console but by a box hidden in the kiosk. This solution allows content to be updated without human intervention and at no additional cost.
it has already been considered from the DS to the Wii U but the internet infrastructure was not yet optimal according to Nintendo.
(Nintendo had started to deploy the technology in Europe for the DS but never launched the service)
This is the second version I see ! the first had a proprietary cable that went through the charging port. it was in best buy stores.
