Hey guys,

The current games room is still in progress. Recently moved houses but quickly running out of room already.

I will update this thread as much as possible with my progress over the next few months.

XenForo says Oct 18, 2008, but actually I originally register in 1998...
Oh man, the room is already impressive as it is, and then you show the two-player Daytona cabinet, amazing!

Finally got around to working on my Tekken 3 cab yesterday. The old monitor has lost it's green, so I replaced it with another 33" monitor which was in much better condition. Now I have a nice crisp & bright picture. Very happy. It might be time to buy an NBA Jam PCB. :)

Daytona, sweet! Back in the day I was kind of a master in this game, really. Most fun arcade racer ever created especially in 8P set up. Oh and GunBullet is sweet too, haha!

By the way the so much hated first Saturn port is the most accurate one, it's identical gamplaywise.

It is my favourite arcade game of all time. I'm mastering the expert course currently!

I think Expert has one situation where you have to step off the gas and drift. Every other curve/corner in this game can be mastered with full on gas and drifting per shifting like wild, no brakes. Easy way to drift, full on gas then shifting from gear 4 to gear 2 for drifting, then stabilizing with gear 3 and finally going into 4. In Dinosaur Canyon you even have to go from 4 to 1 in that corny corner.

What makes the first Saturn port special, you could edit all your buttons to have full control over gas, brake and shifting all 4 gears with your right thumb and both index fingers, essential. Setting is L-Trigger for first gear, R-Trigger 2nd, B is Gas, A is Brakes, Y is 3rd and C is 4th. And X/Z are for perspective change.

Edit:

@SegaManAU, second picture on the far right, what yellow/silver device is that?

I could never get over how horrible the game looked on the Saturn. Totally ruined it for me!!

The yellow/Silver thing you're talking about is my Drill/Torx bits for putting together my shelving. :)

Ahh, I thought it was some kind of strange industrial laptop, haha.

Yes I know the Saturn port was technically not the icing on the cake, it was rushed but the game logic is 1:1 Arcade. ontop so many cars to unlock and on track (!), try the green one where you can drive over grass full speed or the horse or sing along Karaoke style with this "wonderful" soundtrack. You can play it with the steering wheel, believe me so much fun! It has so much content in it, sorry RRacer PS1 these three courses are probably the best in Arcade racing history, VRacing aswell. Edit: Rave Racer and R4 are another story these are perfect.

Then we have the second Daytona on Saturn based on the Sega Rally engine ( Edit: Sega Rally is the best racer on Saturn anyway especially in 2P mode), it looks/runs very good but plays like sh*t. On DC Daytona 2001 played a little less like sh*t, but still not like OG Daytona USA. No button configuration on both games :( The real thing is on X360 which is Model 2 in 720p/16:9/60fps of course and no polygon pop-in like Arcade.

Can't wait to get a Switch only for Virtua Racing which seems to be gorgeous. 8P in split mode from 3P upwards in 30fps which is still Arcade.

Edit: If you look closely to Saturn Daytona and compare it to RRacer PS1 it should be noticable that the courses are kinda more complex and have a "wider" feeling to them. In RR it's more "claustrophobic" in terms of wideness but it runs so much better of course. By the way Model 2 Step 1.0 had some serious pop-ins too.

Not sure what happened to the orinigal pictures, but here is the latest update.

After 7 months I'm almost done.... until I want to change everything again.

Games room 95% complete. This is the games only.... There is a wardrobe full of figures and consoles. Then another large wardrobe shelf full of collectables.... I need another house!!
