When I did it, I used the SDK instructions and I was using Linux. I don't know about how you can do it on Windows, but since you were able to run dsedb, it seems like it may be possible. It may be possible to do with Codewarrior, but I don't know how.

In the same folder as the dsedb program there should be a tool called "dsflash". When I flashed mine, I used this command:

dsflash -d 10.0.0.10 /usr/local/sce/t10000-rel300.bin

You should replace the 10.0.0.10 with the IP address of your TOOL. When I used dsedb, I ran it like "dsedb -d 10.0.0.10". When you run dsflash, you should have the switch TOOL/WS switch in the "TOOL" position.

This takes a few minutes. After its done, you have to reboot the entire TOOL.

If this does not work for you, maybe try reading through the CodeWarrior documentation to see if can do this.

hello again, can you give me some details on this operation.
what version of linux you was running, on wich computer you've done this(old or new), the process of everything, wich tools i must use, how do you instal the sdk on linux, etc.
because, i'm pretty good with windows (all versions) or with ms-dos computers but not with linux.

i will appreciate any help to make this part of gaming history beautiful again we all needs to help each other, thanks ^^

What you could do is to transfer the t10000-rel300.bin file to the Tool via ftp and run dsflash locally following the guidelines from the setup.pdf

Can't remember if there is a function in ProDG to flash the Tool firmware, but it's probably worth installing on your Windows computer anyway.

You need to start a ftp server on your windows machine, i suggest typsoft ftp server.
You can use "ls" to list files on linux, look at what it finds in /usr/local/sce/bin

You don't need to use the Tool's web interface.
Run a ftp server on your windows machine, set a user account and a directory, put the t10000-rel300.bin in that directory, on the Tool, got to /home, run the ftp client "ftp"
And use the "open" command to connect to your server, "bin" to switch to binary mode, "get t10000-rel300.bin" to download the file you need.

Also to avoid any problems with the firmware file, make a md5 hash on your computer and check the file you received with "md5sum t10000-rel300.bin" to make sure it's identical.

You would want to do ftp (your computer's IP). I know that from past experience when I tried to flash the gstool so my tool's information would show up properly on the ps2 side on the initial boot.

127.0.0.1 is the local ip address, not the one on the network, if you don't know it or if the network info screen doesn't show it on the Tool video composite out, run ifconfig -a on the Tool

For FTP, you'd just need to FTP directly into the windows computer's local IP; there's no reason for ifconfig.

Unless it's been that long ago that I did this.

ok so i've done what you've requested on the linux side, and it's done me this.(see pictures).
i don't know if it's the right way to do, but i've opened the cmd on my W10 computer (where my SDK is)
type the ipconfig command and retype the IPv4 on the linux this way(see picture)

Your TOOL and PC are in different networks, or have some misconfiguration.

TOOL:
IP: 192.168.1.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

PC:
IP: 10.0.0.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.1

Are you connecting both devices to the same switch/router?
You should check if either are set to static IPs/Mask/Gateway and either change those or make them Dynamic so the router handles the config.

So what is the next step to transfer the rom update to the tool's hdd ?

That should work; since the FTP server is on your PC (make sure the FTP server is up and running), run the ftp command in the TOOL and use 192.168.1.113 as the IP to connect to.
If you still get connection refused, you may need to check possible firewall issue in Windows.

The ftp client should be able to connect to 192.168.1.113 now.
On your Tool, go to the /home directory before running the ftp client, or it will download the firmware file to your location by default...
